Course Description
The Business Analytics discipline focuses on how organizations transform data into insights that support effective decision-making and strategic management. The ability to analyze data and translate insights into managerial action has become a key capability for modern organizations as they become more and more data driven.
The course introduces the main concepts, methods, and tools of business analytics, covering the progression from descriptive and predictive analytics to prescriptive approaches. Students explore how data can be analysed, interpreted, and communicated in order to better understand business performance and support organizational decision processes.
A strong emphasis is placed on the practical application of analytics in real business contexts. Through hands-on activities and case studies, students work with enterprise analytics environments, including SAP-based business intelligence and analytics platforms, gaining practical experience in multidimensional analysis, reporting, and dashboard development.
By combining conceptual foundations with applied analytical work, the discipline equips students to interpret complex data, generate meaningful insights, and support data-driven decision-making in contemporary organizations.
