Course Description

Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) is a strategic discipline focused on managing a product from its initial concept and design phase through development, market introduction, maintenance, and end-of-life. The course equips students with the knowledge and tools needed to optimize product value across its entire lifecycle by integrating processes, data flows, and organizational functions. Key highlights include understanding digital product data management, cross-functional collaboration between engineering, supply chain and marketing, sustainability and circularity in lifecycle decisions, and the role of emerging technologies such as AI, IoT, and digital twins in lifecycle optimization. Students will explore how PLM supports innovation, cost efficiency, time-to-market reduction, and long-term competitiveness in increasingly complex and global product environments.
