Viorel Costin Banța is a university lecturer, researcher, and specialist in integrated ERP systems, with over 21 years of experience in the study and practical use of SAP, both in academia and in complex industry projects. He holds two PhD degrees, one in Mechatronics and one in Accounting, and has also obtained the habilitation in Accounting, which qualifies him to supervise doctoral research in this field. This academic background provides him with a strong interdisciplinary perspective on the integration of IT systems, business processes, and managerial decision-making.
His professional experience includes participation as a project team member or project manager in SAP implementation projects across a wide range of industries, including oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, automotive, painting, electric motor and generator manufacturing, as well as sales and distribution. This extensive industry exposure is directly reflected in his teaching approach, through the use of real-life case studies and applied business scenarios.
Through both his academic and professional activity, Lect.univ.dr. Banța Viorel Costin promotes an integrated view of ERP systems, process mining, digital transformation, and management accounting, with a particular focus on the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and on the competencies required by today’s digital economy. He actively supports collaboration with industry partners and leading universities, especially within the SAP ecosystem, contributing to the applied and international character of the Master’s program.
