Dr Zenon Michaelides is a Reader and Subject Group Lead in Business Analytics, at Manchester Metropolitan University Business School, U.K. Previously: Director of Studies for the MSc Business Analytics & Big Data, and MSc Digital Business Enterprise Management Programmes at the University of Liverpool Management School. Prior to joining academia, he held various positions of responsibility globally in industry, including the Boeing Airplane Company in Seattle, Washington U.S.A. Dr. Michaelides is a Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council (CEng) and a Member of the Royal Aeronautical Society (MRAeS).
His areas of research include Operations Management and Supply Chain optimisation; Industry 4.0; Business Analytics; Process Mining; Planning and Control Systems; Digital Business Transformation; Enterprise Management Systems. Specifically, his work focuses on the interdisciplinary areas of technological innovation and operations management optimisation. Worked with the SAP Universities Alliance Programme since 2007, supporting SAP training for ERP and S4HANA. Also, key account holder for AWS (Data mining) and Celonis (process mining) Academic Programmes in the Faculty of Business and Law. Participated in and completed research programmes with EPSRC (£550k) and 5 knowledge transfer partnership (KTP) programmes (£1.2 million). Received national Innovate UK: “Changing the World” Award for Best KTP in December 2025, Visiting academic at IMTA (one of Frances Grand Ecoles), and Sheffield University International faculty, on the Executive MBA Programmes.
